The United States believes that Russia will invade Ukraine by next week. National security adviser Jake Sullivan said the U.S. still did not know if Russian President Vladimir Putin had made a decision to invade, but that all the elements are now in place for a rapid incursion. “The risk is high enough and the threat is now immediate enough that prudence demands that it is the time [for Americans] to leave now,” Sullivan said.
“We are not saying that a decision has been taken by President Putin,” Sullivan said. “What we are saying is that we have a sufficient level of concern based on what we are seeing on the ground, and what our intelligence analysts have picked up, that we are sending this clear message.” Defense officials anticipate a bloody campaign that begins with two days of aerial bombardment and electronic warfare, followed by an invasion, with the possible goal of regime change. It has been known that the situation in Ukraine has been deteriorating recently with tensions between Russia and NATO rising. In the midst of this the Pentagon has ordered roughly 3000 American troops to be deployed to Eastern Europe to bolster NATO defenses. Afghanistan had been a big boost for Biden as he pulled out the troops from Afghanistan, claiming Americans should not die for foreign interests and not waste American lives on useless wars. Yet it appears his tone has now shifted as the Pentagon has ordered roughly 3000 American troops to be deployed to Eastern Europe. Biden now seems to value his petty feud with Putin to be more important than American lives, not only sending in troops but actively escalating the situation in Ukraine by doing so. The Russian military announced live fire exercises near Ukraine on Tuesday as fears of an invasion of its western neighbor remained high amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to calm tensions.
The Defense Ministry said 3,000 troops and 300 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles have been deployed across three western Russian regions bordering Ukraine and one bordering Belarus. The military’s Western Military District said the motorized rifle drills will involve T-72B3 main battle tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. As the tensions keep rising, will America's sons be asked to lay down their lives for another useless war that we have nothing to do with? - Article by Alex |
